Legal notice, privacy policy and terms of use

1. Legal notice
Nature of the project
Doforia is a private game server and community website, built and hosted by fans. The project is non-profit: it sells nothing, runs no advertising and earns no revenue. Points for the in-game shop are earned only by playing or voting for the server, never with real money.
The site is not published by any company: it is run by a team of volunteers, reachable through the means listed under “Contact”. No data is passed on to any audience-measurement or advertising provider.
Trademarks and intellectual property
Dofus is a registered trademark of Ankama Games, which retains all rights to the game, its universe, artwork, music and code. Doforia is not affiliated with, partnered with, endorsed by, or supported by Ankama Games or any of its subsidiaries.
This server is a fan-run project, offered free of charge to a community of players. Any request from Ankama Games regarding the use of its content will be handled without delay; the point of contact is given below.
Contact
The team's official channel is the Doforia Discord server: account-deletion requests, reports, legal questions and complaints are all handled there.
Liability
The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of availability or data retention. An interruption, a reset or the shutdown of the server remain possible; they would be announced in advance whenever feasible.
2. Privacy policy
This section describes precisely what the website and the game server record, why, for how long, and how to have it erased. Nothing else is collected.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
| Login username and public nickname | Identify your account on the website and in game; display your nickname in leaderboards and public profiles. | For as long as the account exists. |
| Email address | Confirm your registration, help you recover a lost login and warn you in case of a major incident on the server. It is never sold, passed on to a third party, or used for marketing. | For as long as the account exists. Editable at any time from your settings. |
| Password | Log you in. It is never stored in plain text: only two cryptographic hashes are kept — one required by the game client's protocol, and a site-specific bcrypt hash. Neither the team nor a database administrator can read them back. | For as long as the account exists. |
| Login IP address | Detect account intrusions, enforce sanctions and limit abuse (mass email sending, repeated login attempts). | Only the most recent address is kept on the account: it is overwritten at every new login. Addresses tied to an email link are erased along with that link, seven days after it expires. |
| Game data | Run the game itself: characters, items, kamas, guild, alignment, progress, and the order history of the in-game shop. | For as long as the account exists. |
| Launcher sessions | Avoid asking for your credentials every time you start the game. A random token is stored along with the IP address and the type of application used; it contains none of your password. | 30 days at most, then automatic expiry. |
| Email links (verification, forgotten password) | Prove that you do have access to the mailbox given. | 24 hours for a verification link, 1 hour for a reset link; the record is erased seven days after expiry. |
Cookies
No advertising tracker, no external audience measurement. The site sets a single cookie, doforia.sid, strictly necessary to keep you logged in from page to page. It expires after seven days, or immediately when you log out. It tracks nothing outside this site.
Recipients
Data stays on the project's server. It is never sold, rented or passed on to a third party, with the sole exception of a legal request we would be required to comply with. Only team members with an administrative role can access accounts, and their actions on an account are logged.
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts: your browser therefore contacts fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com while pages are displayed. No account data is passed to them. If you vote for the server, you are redirected to serveur-prive.net, which applies its own policy.
Your rights
As the data controller, we let you request, at any time, access to your personal data, its rectification, or the complete deletion of your account and its characters:
- Immediate rectification — your email address and password can be changed directly from your settings, without going through the team.
- Right of access — most of what we hold on you is already visible in your account area (username, email, login dates, characters, points, purchase history). For anything else, ask the team.
- Right to erasure — the request is made to the team via the Discord, from the account concerned, so that we can verify you are indeed its owner.
Deletion is permanent: username, email address, characters, items and progress are erased and cannot be recovered. Messages you may have posted on community spaces outside the site are not covered by this deletion.
Security
Passwords are never stored in plain text, forms are protected against forged requests, and sensitive pages are rate-limited. That said, this is a volunteer-run project: do not reuse a password here that you use elsewhere, especially the one for your email account or your official game account.
3. Terms of use
Creating an account means accepting the rules below. They are short, and they apply to everyone in the same way.
The account
- An account is personal. Lending, selling or trading it is not allowed: you remain responsible for everything that happens on it.
- Your username and nickname must not impersonate a team member, nor contain hateful, abusive or discriminatory content. A problematic nickname is renamed without notice.
- The service is intended for people able to create a game account on their own. If you are a minor, make sure you have your legal guardians' consent.
The game
- No third-party automation software: bots, combat macros, harvesting scripts, or client modifications intended to give an advantage.
- Multi-accounting is allowed in PvE, but forbidden in Kolizeum and organized PvP.
- A bug is reported, not exploited. A proven abuse leads to the loss of any gains and, if repeated or large-scale, to a ban.
- Respect in public chat is expected: harassment, hateful language, sexual content or incitement to hatred are sanctioned immediately.
- Selling kamas, items or accounts for real money is forbidden and leads to a ban of the accounts involved.
The shop and points
- Shop points have no monetary value: they cannot be bought, resold or refunded.
- A manually delivered item is handed over by a team member; the delay depends on their availability. An order placed during maintenance is fulfilled once the server is back.
- Manipulating the voting system (automated votes, multiple accounts created to vote) leads to the loss of points and a sanction on the accounts involved.
Sanctions
Depending on severity, the team may warn, remove gains, restrict chat access, temporarily suspend or permanently ban an account. A sanction you believe is unjustified can be appealed to the team, from the account concerned. Decisions on permanent bans are made collectively.
Changes to the service and these terms
Game content, rates, the shop catalogue and these terms may change. Any significant change is announced in the news. Continuing to play after an announcement means accepting the new version. You can stop using the service at any time by requesting the deletion of your account.
